CIAQC Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Survey
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is currently working to develop its ON-ROAD HEAVY DUTY DIESEL VEHICLE regulation. This rule, which will be voted on in 2008, will have a significant impact on YOUR BUSINESS.
CIAQC has developed an online survey for contractors that own and operate heavy-duty diesel-fueled on-road trucks (greater than 14,000 pounds) in California. The information provided in the survey will be critical to help the industry and CIAQC address the development of the On-Road Truck Regulation CARB is working on and plans to vote on in October 2008.
Contractors rely on their trucks in ways much different than other truck fleets, such as line-haul and fixed route deliveries that accumulate high miles (and high vehicle turn over) in a shorter period of time. To effectively advocate for our industry as this rule is developed, we need to be able to quantify the differences between the construction industry and other truck operations. Individual company information provided for the survey will remain confidential.
Before you complete the survey, make sure you have the following information for each of your diesel trucks available:
- Truck Type/Function
- Engine Model Year
- Weight (GVWR, pounds)
- Does the truck operate less than 100 hours per year and idling hours
- Miles traveled per year (if known)
- Odometer reading (if available)
- Does the truck have a PTO?
- Type of license plate (CA, SC, Out of State, None)
- Does the truck have a diesel retrofit devise installed (ex. diesel particulate
filter)
